Recruitment
Why join Sigma Sigma Sigma?Greek life at UW-Stout has produced more campus leaders than any other organization on campus! Fraternities/Sororities encourage every member to take a leadership role in either a Greek organization, or elsewhere on campus. Greek organizations offer countless leadership training programs, and tons of leadership experience. Within each chapter, members have a chance to assume a wide variety of leadership roles, ranging from recruitment chair to treasurer, intramural chair to President. Holding chapter offices teaches Greek members how to coordinate events, effectively motivate their peers, and further develop their leadership skills. Greek life is a great springboard to such campus involvement as Student Government, special interest organizations, and more! Greek organizations were founded on the principle of successful scholarship. Individual sororities and fraternities are concerned with each of their member's academic performance. Each chapter has specific grade requirements for membership and initiation (2.5). Sigma offers study opportunities, tutoring, academic advising, scholarships and awards to help ensure the academic success of its members. We also offer incentives for top grades! Scholarships are also available through Sigma Sigma Sigma National Headquarters.
One of the greatest advantages of being involved in Sigma Sigma Sigma is the philanthropic events that are organized by our chapter. Working together on Robbie Page Memorial (RPM) and the Sigma Sigma Sigma Foundation projects not only benefits worthy causes, but also fosters personal growth and greater unity among Greek members. Various activities include: Fundraising, toy & gift drives for hospitalized children, Dinners, working with children at St. Paul Children's Hospital and a variety of other activities. Numerous community service projects are also done in the Menomonie area. Greek life offers the opportunity of experiencing true friendship. Greek organizations create a bond between their members that is impossible to describe. Having the security of someone to count on in good times, and in bad, only makes the Greek experience that much better. Greek brothers and sisters experience relationships that continuously grow better with age. Most Greek members claim to have found their best friends through their Greek experience. |
